Measure at the same place each day. If you want the pumpkin to seem larger, go
over the bulge. If you want to be pleasantly "surprized" then measure it over
the bulge. It really will come down to a judgment as to how it should be "best"
measured since the bulge could be very localized like a pimple or spreadout like
a beer belly. My approach would be to go with the smaller measurement. If you
were truly trying to get to a very accurate unofficial weight, I would cut off
the bulge, measure, then weight the bulge on a bathroom scale. Obviously this
would occur after it has stopped growing. The interim measurements are really
giving you trending and as long as you are consistent, I think the trend and
your anticipated results will conincide. Good luck.
