Debbie,
Sprinkle the Captan, or pour if you have to, it will stick to the wound and
pull the moisture away, then using the fan will dry it out.
The fan may blow a little away, no worries, add more if necessary.

Debbie,
Do not make a paste, it is the worst thing you can do, a paste will keep in
the
moisture, making the problem worse.
Apply the Captan dry and put a fan on it, it will naturally stick to the
wound
that has been scraped out, remove only the dead or soft tissue.
Once again, do not apply as a paste, apply dry and get a fan on it and
natural
sun light if possible to dry it out and heal it.
