In Need of Guidance

Until this last week I was having a pretty easy go of growing in my first
year. Pumpkins growing well and I was just measuring and counting days.
There are several decisions/or problems I need advice on.

1. Problem: Plant #2 has two pumpkins on it, the weather turned bad and the
both stopped growth, now the one on the runner is going slower (OVT 138"
Today 133" yesterday) best increase in a week. The pumpkin on the main vine
hasn't grown for 6 days now at all. And today it is much oranger than
before and is getting soft to the touch. Plant is not showing any signs of
disease that I can notice, This pumpkin is 23 days old. Any ideas out
there?

2. Problem Plant #3 two pumpkins on main one at 20' one at 24'. The weather
slowed this plant too, and their rates haven't increased again. Today the
one at 20', had not grown since yesterday. It is 26 days old with an OVT of
177". Prior to stopping it had slowed to 1-2" on the OVT measurement daily.
Previously it was gaining much better. First question is when to cull to
one pumpkin. I have heard various sizes and ages, I was going to wait until
30 days is that too long. Also why to stop in growth rate? As far as the
plant is concerned it did break two runners that I had to cut (15 leaves
and maybe 20' of vine total) this was caused by a groundhog. He has since
been fenced out of the patch. Also there is 18 leaves off the first right
runner that have turned a lighter lime green.

3. Plant #1. Seems to be a star. Just keeps growing. I am comparing the
above to it. The pumpkins (yes 4) are all growing at > 4" OVT per day. I
have been prolonging cutting any off for a week because of the poor
performance of the other plants and I was afraid I would change what is
otherwise doing well. So any guidelines on what to expect if I cut some
off.
	Main , 25 days, OVT 171"
	L Runner 24 days, OVT 178"
	L2 Runner 23 days, OVT 129"
	L3 Runner 25 days, OVT 141"

Thanks,
