Pumpkins of New Zealand

Hello pumpkin people

John Sargeant here. I am a pumpkin growing person like yourselves.

I started a pumpkin growing competition last summer (I work for the
Council's Parks and Recreation) and we got 79 collossal Curcubits on the
weigh in day.

I have connected with a South Island convicted Pumpkinologist (Graham
Smith) and his like minded wife (Leeanne) and together we have formed
Pumpkins of New Zealand (PONZ). We will have two official weigh in sites
this year. One here in South Taranaki and one in Christchurch. Our weigh
in day will be April 5th, one day after the Australian weigh in.

We are developing an agreement with Australia to formally swap weights
to find the Australasian heavyweight of pumpkinkind.

I would be grateful if you cold send me E Mail addresses that you have
so I can swp notes etc. I have just had E mail installed on my PC and I
am keen to use it. We in the Southern hemisphere are preparing the
plots. I am very fortunate in that I have access to the underneath of a
shearing shed that has not been cleaned out in years. There in about a
metre deep area of sheep manure covering about 200 M2. It is all really
old and black 'n crumbly.

We intent to give the Australians a run for their money this season
which starts on Labour day - about the end of October.

How is this season going for you, you must be well on the way to some
monsters by now.

Good luck and please write back. This E Mail thing is really excellent
isn't it?

Yours in compost

John Sargeant

Have a 'Parky' day. John S.
