Pumpkin Grow th

Hello all,
 
I am feeling frustrated that my pumpkins are slow to get started.  Can
someone tell me approximately how many days post pollination it takes
before you can start to see daily growth?  I keep reading about you people
with 70-80 inch. growth in a very short time.  I think I pollinated around
july 20, and I have shiny healthy looking soft ball size fruit.
