Nikki, Great to hear you still have your pumpkin patch.
As you probably know I write a few poems now and then, some of my ideas come
from this group.
People want me to write a book.
Does this story sound like someone you know?
Maybe you could help me with a title?

I'm here to dig up
Your vegie garden
What the hell for
Whats your reason
Don't you know
It's pumpkin season
The telephone company
Has sent me around
To check their cables
Under the ground
Thats what you think
I said without hesitation
You can't do that
Without some compensation
Go away young man
Before I get cross
And don't come back
I want to talk to your boss
You go and get him
And you'd better run
Cause I'm going inside
To get my gun
Good morning Madam
And how do you do
Is there a problem here
Can I help you
Your not digging up
My patch of dirt
Go away now
Before someone gets hurt
We need to find our cables
And make the repair
We'll give you fifty dollars
Now isn't that fair
Thats very amusing
Yes very funny
Come on inside
Lets talk about money
There's thousands of dollars to win
I could get first prize
In a pumpkin competition
Of weight and size
And then there's my time
I spent digging and weeding
And the money I spent
On fertilizer for feeding
Then there's the money
>From future pumpkin seed
I could go on forever
If you think I need
So if I were you
I wouldn't start this war
So on your way out
Please shut the door
They went away
And looked into it deeper
They found a way
To fix it cheaper

Fighting the phone company
Can be a bit tricky

        Well, we heard today that the phone company is indeed going to dig
up
our
plants.. I don't want them to get away with this with not one ounce of
hardship!
