Hi Chris, I'm a newbie so I'm sure the seasoned growers will jump in
here. Sorry about the explosions.. This is my first year but what
I've read and seen here the explosion occurs from rapid growth, which
can occur if you haven't watered and then we get a big rain, which makes
em grow too fast. Maybe extreme sun, were they shaded? I've had my own
share of problems this season, my plant is finally taking off. I wish
I had a pumpkin big enough to explode. If the others give you more
detail
on what exactly causes this please let me know.
