I could tell you about the ones that have split and the ones that rotted,
but it's too depressing. After responding to Mike's posting about his 200
OTT pumpkin, I went out to discover that my (only) pumpkin has developed
three splits near the stem--which of course knocks it out of every
respectable competition. But I decided to duct tape the stem together, and
patch it up as well as possible with pruning paint (which is great
stuff)--mostly for a lark.
I will let you know at which point Nature defeats me.
