hello everybody, have a small situation here i was wondering somebody
could assist me. have 2 pumpkins growing on the same plant. One of
them on the main vine, the other on a secondary. The one on the main
vine was pollinated on 7/12, the other on 7/18. heres my story, the
main vine pumpkin has been growing like mad, between 10-13" a day for
about a week and a half, largest gain 23.5" in 24 hours! The other one
is quickly catching up, and as a matter of fact, at 2 weeks old, it was
an 1.5" bigger than the one on the main vine at 2 weeks. the larger
pumpkin is a little over 200lbs. est. the smaller one is about 65lbs.
Now my larger pumpkin is slowing down drastically, to the tune of 5" per
day, out of nowhere. I expected it to slow, but not from 11 to 8 to 5
in three days. My plant is in an area about 650 sq ft, is this to small
a plant to sustain 2 pumpkins? should i cull one of them in order for
the plant to transfer all of it's energy into one? which one should i
cull? I thought i was looking at over 700lbs, now i think i'll be lucky
to sqeeze 400 out of it. Please help!!! I want a
monster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
