Congrats to you! Hopefully only good things from now on. The year we had
woodchuck problems, hubby slipped home from work every day, because a
neighbor was familiar with the varmints routine and tried to do away with it
in a permanent way. In the end we lured it into a humane trap with a
discarded pumpkin seedling, and relocated him to a nearby wildlife
reserve.(hubby cannot destroy a caged animal) Unfortunately, 3 weeks latter
a friend told us a sad story of how a woodchuck had recently taken up
residence under HER neighbors shed and was devouring all the impatiens in
her garden.(we did a location check and found that she lived less than 1/2
mile from our drop off spot.)
I'm very grateful that thus far our local squirrel population has had the
patience to wait till we compost at the end of the season, then, just get out
of the way! they empty out the cavity of remaining seed in no time flat.
pumpkin widow, in Ma.
