My 1006 has a fatal injury, Blossom End Split. Last night it split after
reaching over 133.5 " and still growing at 2" per day. I have sealed the
crack and will try and mature the seeds. This Pumpkin had broken many growth
records for me, most days of growth above 4", fastest growth above 100" etc.
Even though Blossom End Split is influenced by genetics I want to try and save
her seeds. This plant was the strongest plant I have ever seen and had a vine
coming out of the ground that looks like a tree trunk. I believe the Pumpkin
will continue to grow for a few days. I will record the final measurements
which I suspect will put it over 500 pounds.
Not much else to say, I feel like my Dog has
died...........................................
