Just a quick post to let you know how things are going in Port Alberni.I
haven't seen any updates from any of the other growers on Vancouver Island
for a while. C'mon guys and gals, let's hear how you're doing.
The S. Larue 1016 has an OTT of 212 for app. 208 lbs.The pumpkin has very
square stem and blossom ends with a cylindrical body.
The D. Geerts 741.5 has an OTT of 229 for app. 259 lbs. It is round and
very smooth with almost no ribbing.
The Richart 871 is my pride and joy at the moment. It has an OTT of 268 for
app. 400 lbs. It continues to gain 3.5 to 4.5 inches a day for an average
gain of 20 lbs per day.It is round with shallow ribbing. My fingers are
crossed on this one.
As an aside, the fishing's been great so far. I've loaded up on sockeye and
now the springs (tyee) are here. I got 2 this morning - a 21 and a 26 lber.
