Re: Pumpkin temperatures

1) Is there any data regarding optimal or the effect of variations in
soil temperature over the course of the growing season? This would be
especially useful in conjuntion with other regional, meteorological and
genetic data.
2) It was stated that lightning increases the growth rate of pumpkins by
increasing the amount of nitrogen. Is it not true, though that nitrogen
contributes to the growth of the foliage and not the fruit? Otherwise
why do you go to potassium during the fruit growth stage?
(Nikolai) Tesla, anyone?
