Well, the Lucas County Fair was this week here in Toledo, and there was
actually a pumpkin grown that was awarded "biggest pumpkin"! It was about
15-20 pounds, and the weird thing was that it was REALLY DARK green! Has
anyone ever seen a pumpkin dark green? I mean really DARK green. Just a hint
of orangish speckles near the top.
Anyway, it gives me hope, if a 15 pound pumpkin can win Biggest Pumpkin at
the Lucas County Fair, I might still be in luck! Ha ha! Actually they had all
sorts of vegetables and stuff that was really interesting to look at.
("Weirdest Squash", etc.).
It would be neat to enter somethin, but I think you have to be in 4-H or
something. Anyway, I'm not sure what the prize was for the biggest pumpkin,
but I thought it should have won for "greenest" pumpkin! It was really weird!
