Dan in Vermont. I am not qualified to say yes or no in ag's all I know is
that the cellular material grows together. the other thing I know is other
ways of grafting did not work well. but I encourage other growers to
experiment. cambium in the dictionary . is described as the layer of cells
which annual growth of woody material and bark takes place. I think we're
talking trees here. the ag's vine doesn't have bark but when I tore up the
vine that split and grew together. it felt pretty hard . I cut out the flat
spot and when it dried in the sun it was hard like wood. so I would say it
has a cambium like material. but ag 's are definitely a soft wood. happy
plumbing. I put a description of my grafting technique in the July
archives. I have four grafts a week old this year and solid I had to wait
to graft until the secondarys crossed. my hope for grafting is that with it
and superior genetics and all the other ideas out there that in the year
2000 a 2000 lb or maybe by 2010 a 2010 lb maybe with 20 , 20 vision the
best we can hope for is in 2020 a 2020 lb pumpkin.
