     Giving up because you can't grow the biggest, and because you have 
problems.  The winners in life are the ppl who solve their problems the 
fastest and most accuratley.  This is just one of the many.  Also, you may 
always have this problem.  The cure may be to go stumpless earlier and have 
the tap roots develop early.  They may pick up all the slack.  Then when you 
really get down to it you realize how blessed you are to even see these grow 
at all.  And if you really get down just talk to Barb.  Now she has bad luck 
and every reason to give up but she never does :)
