Re: Maryland update

Bob,

Drought not-withstanding, things down here are going alright.
We've got loads of JBLs and the sugar pumpkins are doing quite well also,
as are the Ct. field pumpkins. Due to the watering restrictions I'm not
going to get the absolute maximum harvest out of the little ones, but
there'll be more than enough to enter in the fair. (Starts Sept. 17th)
I trimmed back my Burke 1092 and Hicks 745 plants way back and am hoping
to stimulate some new flowering-that is my only chance at harvesting
anything off of the 1092. The 745 has one about 120 lbs on it that has
stopped growing, maybe I'll get it a baby sister, who knows? Nothing to
loose at this point. My most promising new set on the 727 Greer exploded
on me Tuesday. Now I've got a couple of others about 2X softball sized on
this plant so maybe I've got a chance to pass up the 260 lb already on this
plant.

Hope yours keep growing and growing,

Bill Susa
