Re: Attention Illinois Growers

From The Desk Of A Pumpkin Killer....

Well, it looks like my shot for the new world
record has been dashed by the insidious and
relentless invasion of bacterial wilt on a handy
capped flat vining stump less wonder of a plant
known as the 1.092 . Sure I'm to blame (don't we
always blame the parents), but I can honestly say
it wasn't for lack of trying. Out of twelve sets
only one fruit seemed to take hold and was
promptly eaten by something at 25 inches. About
the only wild thing in my neighborhood is the kid
next door (subsequent teeth and claw mark plaster
casts failed to make a positive ID). The plant is
still growing but continues to lose more and more
leaves and vines with each successive day.
I fear I've lost all credibility within the
pumpkin community (heck, even MB wont return my
emails).
So, there you have it, a gut wrenching confession
from an all hopes dashed kinda guy.
