AG Lifter

Several people have asked me for details about the lifter shown on page 127
of Don Langevin's "how to" book,number 2.

It was made by a local AG grower,Bert Doornwaard,in his professional
shop, from welded steel rods and car seatbelt straps.

Having used it on a few dozen pumpkins, including those at the Spencerville
weight-off,under a tractor front end loader,I wouldn't want to have to go
back to the old 10 men strain and grunt method.Actually my wife and I can
now lift and load any weight I might be lucky enough to grow.It is just a
matter of lifting your prize straight up and backing a truck or trailor
under it.

I was talking to Bert today and he is presently filling 4 local orders, plus
one for a Colorado grower.Obviously he is prepared to ship them anywhere.

It occured to me that if he wants to make more of them I could put a note on
here to growers and he said that was OK with him.

His phone number ---613-774-3317 (home) and 2974 (shop)

If you want to discuss details give him a call.I know the quality is there
and assume price is on an individual basis depending on shipping distance
and other factors.
