"The females are being pollinated and die off". I have never seen it
this bad as this year. The high heat and dry days are causing havoc. In
the past I generally have many pumpkins and decide which ones to keep.
This year I have no choices.......just trying to survive. So pumpkins
will get about basketball size and get soft......why?............has to do
with the heat and dryness.
A cure for this would be to keep the soil moist and water mist those plants
in the middle of the afternoon. And back off on the nitrogen
fertilizer..........give them more potash.
