Re: Fertilizer - HOW MUCH?

Maybe I'm overdoing mine. This is the first year of
trying this, and I didn't get the seeds in the ground
untill june, so I didn't prepare this years hill last year.
I used aged dairy manure about 1/2&1/2 with dirt to build
the mound. When the plants got three true leaves, I started
with miricle grow, a gallon every two or three days. When
it took off I was soon up to 5 gallons every day or two,
plus adding liquid fish fertilizer to offset the nitrogen
tieup from the manure that may not be completely composted.
Now it's ten gallons every day or two. After reading this
thread I'm worried I'm using too much, but the plant looks
great, and I've had no bugs. I had an early problem of all
female flowers, but now have four set fruits.
Being a AG newbie, I welcome any comments, favorable or
unfavorable.
