re: Tornado passes within 2000' of pumpkins

Mother Nature smiled upon the 940 Mombert this week as an F2 tornado
ripped through downtown Salt Lake City and the avenues neighborhood
where we live. It's amazing how localized these things are. I was
outside when it hit and all I experienced was one 40mph or so gust of
wind that blew over one vine and kicked up a lot of dust. One block
away a tree was ripped apart and ten blocks away entire roofs (not just
shingles) were blown off--a total of 40 something houses in our
neighborhood are not inhabitable. Even though our yard has great wind
protection, if those 150 mph winds had hit I'm sure that my leaves,
vines, entire plant, would have been shredded. We're at the mercy of
UNCONTROLLABLE FORCES!
