Matt,

In farming crop rotation works well.  There nothing like fresh virgin
ground.  AG seem to like lots of organic material and it takes alot to
build up the humus levels.  so many growers stick with the same patch as a
killer soil takes a while to build............its hard to say if patches
peter out...but i would suspect they do in the end... but because there is
so much added to build fertility.....it it takes years to notice say
10-15.....i would imagine if you rotated between a few patches that would
be an ideal system........but a hell of alot of Organic matter
...........but with a system like that you can keep growing til you
die.........Brock
