pumpkin guts question

catchy title eh?...here's my question, i don't know if any of you have
experienced this, but here's my story:  last year when i cut open my
pumpkin, my hands got this stuff on them that wouldn't come off, sort of
looked like dry skin, but wasnt'.  I cut a pumpkin off the vine yesterday,
and i didn't wear gloves, and the same thing happened.  Is this an allergy?
or does anyone else on the list experience this also.? Just curious.
