Just to let you know. I could not take it anymore not knowing final
weight of this years best effort. So this evening after work piece by
piece careful chunks were cut off and placed on a scale. As I had said
earlier the fruit measured right at 400# OTT. I weighed all pieces
except the 15 to 20# piece I took to work this A.M. I also let the young
neighbor boy take home a Ice cream bucket full of the guts to harvest
most of the seeds.
The pieces totaled 452# and when you add the others it should have
been close to 475 to 480. I figured those 8 to 9 inch walls would make
her go a bit heavy!! All this after 34 days of growth. Should have
tried to save her for a couple of days and took her to the state fair.
our record at the fair is 407#. At least I would have been able to show
it some where!! That's it from Iowa!!
