Day in and day out, we watch the patch,
Tending our babies, protecting from scratch.
With gentleness, caring, heartache, and pain,
We care for the fruit, and pray for the rain.
A year of drought, mother nature has said,
"No rain for Pennsy, your plants will be dead."
But fight we have, to fool mother nature,
Protecting from diseases, rotting, and creatures.
I read posts from list memebers, losing their fruit,
With acts of God, and plants with no root.
Like Dan in Iowa, and this fella named Greg,
Nothing to stand on, not even a leg.
But some march on, like the Ontario queen,
Who's early reports, brought weights unseen.
And of course who can forget, that fella named Pacilli,
Who's 1400 pounder, was just plain silly.
Looking ahead, into my crystal ball,
I see success, for one and all.
For this list brings help, no money can buy,
Leaving hope for Ag's, 1000 pounds - Ill try!
Now it is late, I must be moving on,
Shutting my book, by some guy named Don,
I flash in my head, what tomorrow will bring,
And hope October 2nd, a winner..... CHA CHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
