For those who don't know and might be interested, the first day of the
pumpkin list was Tuesday, January 16, 1996. It was started by Dan
Gardner, who had the first Giant Pumpkin webpage.
The original 9 list members (as introduced by Dan in his first posting)
that day were:

9: Don Pattison, Australia
The list has had its ups and downs, but as an "old-timer" from Day 1 I
have found that the value of the information available, the friendly
support from like minded individuals and the interesting folks I've
been able to correspond with about our favorite subject far outweigh the
minor problems of the list.
Thanks to Dan for starting the whole thing, and to Duncan for his
continued and much appreciated efforts.
