Bees trapped in flowers! (And mutated Cuke Beeltes)!

Is anyone else having this problem?
Every time in the evening I check the male and female flowers, I notice bees
in almost every one, sometimes 2 or 3 in each flower, trapped after the
flower closes up some. Well, last year, there were a couple, and they just
flew out. But this year, they are all sort of "stunned". They are alive, but
don't seem to want to leave.
It is WEIRD! I dusted with Sevin last week, way before the flowers opened, so
it doesn't seem that there would be any in or near the flowers.
The cucumber beetles are also frighteningly "smart" this year. It is almost
like they know what I am thinking. It might sound crazy, (and no, I was nto
out in the hot sun all day!). But upon trying to hand catch them
individually, they outsmart you in several ways. They hide surprisingly well,
and FAST, they play dead, they fly off when they see you coming, and dodge
you in mid air. I have never seen this leval of intelligence in a pest insect
before. Most are basically "dumb" with their microscopic minds only focused
on eating, and their natural camoflauge. These seem to think.
Is this some sort of advanced evolution of a new subspecies? I also say this
because the cuke beetles here are extremely resistant to most any form of
control, including Sevin. I have already put flowers full of them into Sevin
solution, after coating them with Sevin powder, and they still live! They
crawl out of whatever container I put them in and fly away, white with Sevin!
This is actually scary!
Someone said there might have been some chemicals or radiation in the area
several years ago which could have increase mutation rates, along with a lot
of use of pesticides over years, could this have developed a super
sub-species?! I am serious about this!
