This morning I got up and as ususal as soon as it was light enough, I went
out and checked Jimmy Dean, the orange sausage. This AM he is at 114 in. in
circum, or about 360 pounds. Exactly two weeks ago he was at 180 pounds.
Double the weight in fourteen days! What a kick.
This is what gets me to go out and do all the things that make pumpkins grow
each day. Where else does anything work so wonderfully? I am convinced that
Jack and the Beanstalk was reallyabout an AG grower that went vertical.
Once again the folks I talk to are coming by for the tour. Fortunately Jimmy
grew right outside our bedroom window, so we have a visitor's gallery. Ladies
do not even have worry about snagging their hose on a vine.
JImmy might pop tomorrow, or stop growing (God forbid!), and I would be
depressed for a few days, but the absolute wonder of growing this giant still
fills me with joy.

ps - Elk Grove Parks and Rec Dept.- If this growth keeps up you may have to
rent the heavy duty diesel fork lift.
