RE: Minnesota State Fair

Hey, Hey, Hey, get a grip yourself........Sheesh, 320 lbs. is a big pumpkin.
There are a lot of people on this list who I'm sure would be quite happy
with a 320 lb pumpkin and a blue ribbon from their state fair. Until last
year I had never grown anything that big. If George wants to take one of
his 500 lb. culls down there and win a blue ribbon more power to him. The
point is HAVE FUN!!! And winning at any level is fun. I'll bet the grower
of that 320 lb. pumpkins is very happy with what they accomplished and they
have good reason to be. George I say go for it. You'll probably get a kick
out of the process of entering something and seeing the behind the scenes
part of the fair as they get everything ready before it opens. I've done it
the last couple years at the Western Washington fair in Puyallup and I
wouldn't want to miss it. I'll bet there is even a little prize money
involved to help offset the cost of whatever you spend on food and drink at
the fair.
