Man of straw in NZ

Now the good weather is settling in I have been 'borrowing' straw to act as
a mulch from the stables at the A&P Showground's. It is only about ten
minutes walk and I get a sack full each evening. It is surprising how much
straw you can ram into a sack. A great walk across the fields with the
mountain peak still covered in snow reflecting the setting sun. Absolutely
fabulous. A perk of growing pumpkins eh!

Wendy who lives around the corner (and was born in New York) now has a
Needham 710 plant so there is another convert.

Just the sprinkler system to install when I have about two more sackfulls of
straw and I am set for the season.
