German Growers Arise!
Hi everyone!
If there are any german growers besides myself on this list or you know
of any I'd love
them to contact me as soon as possible at guru@grapeseek.com
It's sickening to think that the prize this year for the largest pumpkin
was only 2000 DM which is about 1200 US Dollars and that there
were no prizes for 2nd place or lower. This doesn't even cover the
cost of growing a pumpkin nor does it help promote pumpkin growing
in Germany at all.
My company Grapeseek, Inc. is donating the first 200 USD in an attempt
to generate more prize money in a weigh-off that we will be holding ourself
thru a new organization called the German Giant Pumpkin Growers Association
which we are forming. We are in the process of seeking corporate support
from German businesses to try to raise at least 10,000 DM for first place,
5000 for second and 2500 for third place. We might charge a membership
fee or entry fee to the weigh-off and distribute all monies after expenses
as prize money.

I hope nobody on this list thinks this is an advertisement and I apologize
in advance if this message offends any of you!
We are just trying to drum up support for this awesome sport, hobby, art,
game of chance
or whatever you like to call it. I prefer "unbridled addictive passion"!
Merry Christmas to you all and thanks for all the help and info you gave
me this year! My pumpkin this year placed 5th in Germany and was
only 222.2 lbs. but it was my first try and I was pleased.
