RE: E-Bay Seed Sale

List,I have been lurking here for quite a while without posting, but I
just wanted to put my opinion out on the whole seed issue. I can
remember a few years back we had this discussion. The selling of seeds
in our hobby is definitely trouble if we want to preserve true genetic
lines that we can trace. But I am sure error in the genetics has already
come into play. There can be mix ups when labeling our seeds when we are
sorting them out to dry. I am sure some people have already lied about
seeds they have given away. We also have folks who did not pollinated
their pumpkin correctly and let bees into the mix mistakenly. Those
types of mistakes are inevitable. And so is the selling of seeds. I
mean, $1200 bucks for a collection. Ray Waterman eat your heart out. I
guarantee many others are going to sell seeds now on ebay. And how
insane is that considering everyone on this list gives away their seeds
for free. Our only solution as a community is to not use seeds from
questionable sources.

I think the worst that can happen, is that some other "collectors"
  will
start offering seeds on ebay and possibly fraudulently claim that
  they are
from seed strains that are supposinglyt "hot". The buyer then gets a
  bunch
of seed not true to its claimed genetic background.

  seeds
causing the price to drop for the others...I hope. Don
