Whiter Shade of Kale
Tripped over a vine all mangled,
Found squash bugs in the row,
It was looking kind of sea green,
Wherebd all the orange ones go?
The bees were humming harder,
And the rain wonbt come my way
When they called out for another drink,
Watered again for another day
And so it was that later,
As it grew like a green tomato,
What I faced, at first I boasted,
Itbs a whiter shade of kale.
I said there is no reason,
Why orange it should not be,
But I wandered through my seed packs,
And the green is pain to see,
Only one of sixteen bore fruit,
Green squash for all to see,
And all the vines split open,
No orange giants for me.
And so it was that later,
As this gardener told her tale,
What I faced at first was ghostly,
Just a whiter shade of kale.
I said there is no Eatonbs,
No LaRuebs that I can see,
Congrats to Mr. Checkon,
Where can I get some seeds?
As I wandered through my dead patch,
Mosquitoes would not let me be,
Though the scales were open,
No pumpkin there from me,
And so it was that later,
As this gardener told her tale,
What I faced at first was ghostly,
Just a whiter shade of kale L
