Hi, Guys!
The pumpkin poetry contest closes November 30 at midnight wherever you are.
There have been three entries, and there are three prizes. Your odds are
good, therefore, but your time is short.
Kathie in Santa Rosa
Bubble Trouble
Bubbles went out weeks ago
Begging for some seeds to grow
Some with money some with wine
Someday that Wallace will be mine. . .
Ive bid on seeds in many a lot
Bid with money I aint got
Pawned that gold ring (from my nose)
To bid upon that 1370 Rose
Ive stayed up late proposing trades
For genetic crosses others made
And seeds of noble weight and worth
To grow the biggest ever girth
Each evening when I get the post
I know that I will have the most
And check my investment of stamps and trouble
Against whats inside of each new bubble
But fate is cruel and destiny worse
I must have a pumpkin curse.
For when the Wallace finally came
Upon the seed pack was another name
It wasnt Glasier, Pukos or Pugh
This name was familiar, kinda new
I seed I think from some smaller times
It was the famous 45 Grimes.
What is THIS cross? What are these genes?
Is it orange? Is it green?
I think I'll plant it, you never know
What a little seed may grow.
