seed storage

I need some ideas on how to store seeds. Should I use jars or plastic containers, boxes or cans? What should I use to keep the seeds dry while in storage? Can you use a vacuum seal of any type, jar,bag,or what ever. We have an extra refrigerator to keep them in if needed.
Your suggestions and help are appreciated.
