    Probably the easiest to start a giant pumpkin contest is at a local fair
that runs the first week of October. Get a scale, a sponsor, get some giant
seeds out to the 4-H kids and garden centers in the spring and away you go. It
will grow as the years go by. It is important to get a sponsor and get a group
of 20 or so people going the first year.
