Chris,
I site I find very useful is WXP The Weather Processor
http://wxp.eas.purdue.edu/
You may have to spend some time learning how to interpret the graphics for
the different forecasting models but the site it self gives good information
on this. Once you get a feel for the models you can often for see possible
dramatic shifts in the weather several days before local forecasters will go
public. There is a tendency with forecasters to hold of informing the
public about possible dramatic weather changes until they are very sure it
will happen. But hey, if there is a chance that the weather may adversely
effect my garden I'll take an extra day or two to prepare, and if I'm wrong,
better safe than sorry.
Hope this helps.
