compost bins

We got two of the recycled compost bins sold by the city for $10.00
each. Filled them with leaves, grass clippings, veggie stuff. We
chopped up the leaves with the lawn mower first, dumping the bag into
the bin, then took the weedeater and stuck it in the bin to further chop
everything up, sprinkled with water lightly and let her rip. Now, 2
months later, we have wonderful black dirt-looking compost. The bin
steams a little when you take the lid off, like it is supposed to! This
is our first time composting and the results are really great! It takes
lots of stuff to fill two of those bins! Now its time to start a worm
bed which I understand is really easy too and produces lots of worm
castings for fertilizer.
