Re: Roots vs Leaves (watering)

I lost most of my stump to rot in 98' This is the first time it has happened
to me.
I water with drip irrigation, my soil is well drained and I paint the stumps
with captan
and liquid sevin(this stops the squash vine borers) but it did not stop the
rot.
When I got my soil results back this year I was low on calcium. Calcium does
help In the case of Blossom-end-rot, it removes Harmful waste products of the
plant metabolism and removes high sodium levels. I suspect my low calcium
levels

Any thoughts?
