Pete and others ,
I have seen this frothing from rotting vine ..........I figured it was some
form of fermentation.......i noticed that there usually is a small crack in
the stem then I find flea beetles and other decomposers inside they spread the
spores or wild yeasts??..............the cracks usually are dinky thus creating
the perfect environment......................................rampant
rot......hard to detect andhave always figure this kinda hole ......... bad
luck.............overhead watering could be the problem with whatever seepin
in perhaps keeping it dry and maybe sand a round it would keep the bugs
out..................mb
