how much manure?

I just started growing pumpkins this last season with a buddy of mine.
We both grow our pumpkins on his farm since I don't have the room. Since
he has an abundance of manure from his horses and pigs, he has been
hauling it to the garden like it's going out of style. All of it, I
would consider fresh, not more than three months old. I would guess at
least 30 or 40 wheel barrel loads in a 500 sq. foot garden. We plan to
nearly double the size of the garden next year but by then he will have
also doubled the manure. I'm guessing that it's too much and too fresh
but my only option is to brake his damn wheel barrel. Can anyone give me
some insight into my chances for next years crop?
