Hi Everyone-I just recieved my soil test results from my patch that I sampled
after the growing season in October from Cornell Co-op.I can now compare the
effects of a growing season on the soil with my first soil test taken in the
early spring before pumpkins (or anything but grass)was grown.I am interested
in any and all comments, opinions, suggestions, snide remarks, etc. that may be
helpful in advancing my pumpkin/squashing experience. And now,for your review
and comments:
MARCH 1998 OCTOBER 1998
PH 7.1(high) 6.9(high)
PHOSPHORUS (#/A) 70 (high) 371(high)
POTASSIUM(K) " 250(high -) 710(high)
MAGNESIUM(Mg) " 405(high -) 600(high)
CALCIUM(Ca) " 8340(high) 5870(high)
PH in CaCl2 : 6.7 6.5
Aluminum (Al) (#/acre) 33 21
Iron (Fe) " 9 5
Manganese (Mn) " 18 18
Zinc (Zn) " 34.8 28.7
Organic Matter 5.2% 5.2%
Nitrate(NO3-N #/Acre) 36 10
I notice that although copious amounts of horse manure were added, the %
organics is the same, most every thing in the micro catagory has dropped and
the macro's have increased.Any suggestions or comments?-Glenn
