Hello folks,
I expected the first female on the #815 to open on Monday but it was still
reluctant to open Tuesday however I did the deed on Tuesday and found
another female on a secondary that looked ready today so I have a start.
There are still very few bees and the ones that are don't seem to be
interested in the pumpkins.
The tertiary vines are starting to become noticeable now so I have some work
to do pinching them out.
I am thinking of making a map of the plant so I can keep track of what is
where.
There seems to be about 20 secondary leaf junctions on either side of the
main vine and so far about 15 nodes on the main vine, so a matrix of 40 x 40
should cover it.
One of the secondaries running out from close to the stump is looking poorly
and as additional runners are growing near the stump I may be able to
replace it.
