immature seeds

Title: immature seeds

Just a comment on why Gerry's pumpkin might have had immature seeds.  Seedless watermelons that are readily available aren't really seedless, rather, they have lots of very immature seeds.  Could it be that somehow in the genetics of the previous crosses that produced the seed that she planted, somehow, two recessive genes matched up for a "seedless" pumpkin or else it became a "mule" and unable to reproduce itself and the only way to get that pumpkin again would be to plant another seed of the same parentage.  Just a thought....By the way, great topics on the list right now...lots of good info.

Thanks!
