The answer to your question is yes the spray from the micro emitters will
wash off whatever foliar applied fertilizer or insecticides you apply. I
have found though that I can time my applications around the heat so this
has not really been a problem. One special note and I do not know how the
sprinklers would work against vine borers but my cuke beetle problems have
drastically been reduced by the system. I have observed that the cuke
beetles do not like the spray emitted from the system. The beetles will try
and fly into the patch and then fly away due to the mist. Those that land on
the leaf surface also will depart when the water comes on. Some do crawl
under the leafs to get away from the spray but their numbers are minimal. I
believe Tim Aker in Virginia who is in borer territory has installed a
system similar to mine. I don't know if he has any thoughts on this or if he
has noticed any improvement in borer attack?
