Thanks for your response.
I should add that, for a grower who is using plastic mulch only for a few
weeks (as may be the case in most places, where mulch is used mainly as a
season-extender and removed), the weed issue may not matter much. In our
patch in Interior Alaska, however, plastic mulch stays on for the entire
growing season, so it makes a big difference whether we choose clear or
dark plastic.
