Roger and list,
I agree that Howard Dill is the "Most Important" person that this hobby has
known. He did create it, after all.
However, I am putting on my flame-proof underwear and stating that Ray
Waterman has brought more people to the hobby than any other person and
should, therefore, be considered the "Most Influential". I would daresay
that most growers became aware of competitive pumpkin growing because of
Ray's promotional efforts.
