Keep it Up!
Dear Fellow Growers,
Guaranteed-this is off any subject!
However, my wish to you!
This Christmas and Hanukkah, I very much believe, to all growers, there are
numerous facets of your life and accomplishments to be thankful for. I,
personally feel blessed with the friendships I've accrued through this list.
Sometimes, this season seems so hectic and commercialized. Yet, if you allow
yourself a few moments to reflect on yourself, your family, and your friends
accomplishments-I'll bet my last dollar, that the corners of your your lips
are curling upwards before you are finished. Nobody jests a genuine smile!
This year has been full of successes, personal records, and world records.
It also had a great list friend, Dan Carlson, suffer through a life
threatening burn injury, allowing those with personal prayers and well
wishers to open an unprecedented flood gate of genuine posts. Furthermore,
Wayne Kennedy, suffered a heart attack, and however unassumingly, still grew
respectable pumpkins, and continued being a profound contributor and leader
to this list.
Plus, this list has the Santa Claus of growers, Alan Reynolds. Outside of
developing a perfect carrying tarp (and giving it away at his cost) this
grower provides more seeds and information to new and old growers than any
person I know-from all of us-Thanks!
Erin, Pumpkin Flower and her child, gave us the defining "Hallmark" picture
of 1999-Mr. Langevin I beg of you to take that picture into consideration
for your next book cover. Pumpkin Flower also highlighted the fun and sheer
delight in growing sunflowers with her contest and web page!-Thanks.
For those of you on this list, who were thinking, "I'm just missing one
person on my christmas card list---who is it?" ANSWER: Duncan-You all
(Ya'll-for the southern growers). This ONE individual has put us all
together into a; heavy hitter Chris Anderson advice, my theory how to kill a
squash vine borer or other insect, soil complexion, pollination theory, US
vs. Canada, green (Glenn A) vs. orange, temperature, water, fertilizer, I'm
a new grower-please advise, developing a new list, mode or compendium.
Duncan-from the SDGPA a big THANK-YOU!
There are so many more that deserve recognition (the Rocky's, Reggie, Marv,
the Steve's, Bob, Barb, etc...... yet finally and personally, I'm most
thankful for; Pete and Cindi Glasier. For those of you that have not
experienced their wonderful insight- I implore you to justify the
opportunity in 2000. Personally, I would have given up if had not been for
their encouragement and ease of advice! Thanks Professor!!!!
"and so I'm offering this little phrase for kids from one to 92. Although
it's been said many times many ways, Merry Christmas to You"
Please Keep It Up!
Happy Holidays,
Buck Meier
