Here in CA we have long hot days. Not only is it ok to water overhead we
usually mist our plants all day. Some of us mist at one or two minutes
intervals, I mist continually all day because I use a fogger type mister.
The type of mister Chris Andersen uses must be turned on and off through
out the day. So you have several different options to choose from. I
don't usually have a mildew problem until very late in the season if at all.
I used drip line irrigation for years but changed this year. I have had
dry spots on the surface soil for years and used to water with a hose until
I changed to overhead watering. I like the overhead rain bird type system,
but now I have a bigger weed problem.
